We have a rather short, but substantial history at Music For All’s National Festival. Each year since 2009 at least one Franklin band student has been selected to either Honor Band of America or Honor Orchestra of America, and both our Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble performed (by invitation) at the 2013 event.
This year we have three students in HBOA. Pictured left to right are Cameron Drury-senior tuba, Ryan Fisher-sophomore clarinet and Mikaela Ray-junior horn.
Congrats to these students for this great achievement!
Wow, it’s been a great week of recruiting for us, beginning with the Side-by-Side rehearsal and concert with the Grassland 8th Grade Symphonic Band, an energetic information meeting, our drumline performing for the entire rising 9th grade class on Wednesday, and Franklin High School Open House last night!
We have a meeting this Tuesday, March 4, at 7pm in the Franklin Bandroom if you missed last Tuesday. (The information is identical.)
April 15 is a big day for us, with the first movement class of the year from 3-5 and a meeting at 6:30 for parents of our new members. Mark your calendars!
And if you need a copy of our Flyer from Open House, here it is: Open House Flyer 2014
Our own Sam Albert, a senior percussionist, has been named a National Merit Finalist!

Here’s the 2014 Marching Band 2014 Schedule-as of 3-5-14. We’re looking forward to another great marching band season. Mark your calendars now!
Congrats to our students that performed in the 2014 Williamson County Honor Band!
The band was conducted by Dr. John Lynch, Director of Bands at the University of Georgia.
