Franklin Wind Ensemble Receives Award of Distinction

FRANKLIN WIND ENSEMBLE RECEIVES AWARD OF DISTINCTION FOR CONCERT PERFORMANCE

The Franklin Wind Ensemble received the American School Band Directors Association Award of Distinction for Concert Performance at the band’s spring banquet in May.  Brock Cobb, Band Director at Rossview High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, presented the award to Franklin directors Jacob Campos and David Aydelott.
The award recognizes the Wind Ensemble for receiving all Superior ratings in every category from all four judges at the Middle Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association Concert Performance Assessment in March.  Franklin’s Wind Ensemble performed in the grade 6 classification, meaning their repertoire was at the most difficult level of concert band literature.  Their repertoire included Washington Post March by John Philip Sousa and Suite of Old American Dances by Robert Russell Bennett.
