Franklin Band Takes Second And Wins Outstanding Musical Performance at BOA Super Regional

The Franklin Band had a fantastic end to the 2022 marching season as they took Forever Young on the road in the last two weeks. In a field of 84 competing high school marching bands, The Franklin Band took second place and won Outstanding Musical Performance in their class at Bands of America (BOA) Indianapolis Super Regional at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 15th. This past weekend, The Franklin Band earned a superior rating, placed second in their class and took 2nd overall at Contest of Champions at MTSU with 24 bands competing.

The Super Regionals performance was highlighted on 24LiveBlog by Josh Hines who wrote “Franklin opens with a very lush sound before the entire band begins to sing…the band and guard do a great job making us feel like we are really in…the guard comes out in beautiful golden sparkling dresses as the innocence of childhood comes back to us as the band flies us home in a triumphant fanfare to close out the show.”

New band director Dr. Michael Holland notes “I am beyond proud of what the band has accomplished this year with both the Forever Young show and with our continued engagement with the Franklin community. I am looking forward to leading this accomplished, dedicated group of talented musicians through many seasons to come!”
