Marching Band

The Franklin Band is the current and 7-time Tennessee marching band state champion and Contest of Champions Grand Champion, earning the Governor’s Cup for this distinction. They are also a 2014 recipient of the prestigious Sudler Shield, presented by the John Philip Sousa Foundation to high school, youth, and international marching bands of world class excellence.

Grand National Championships 2018

A proud Bands of America participant since 2008, Franklin has been a Semi-Finalist at the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championship since 2012.  Since 2012, Franklin has earned three 2nd place finishes in Class AAA, and one 3rd place finish in Class AAA at Grand Nationals.  In 2018, Franklin ranked 17th in the nation with their Grand Nationals semi-finals performance.

 

The Franklin Band has also performed at the Tournament of Roses Parade in 1986; the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1989 and 1998; and the Orange Bowl Parade in 1980, 1983, 1986, and 1991.  For a full list of the band’s accolades, click here.
